Apollo Tele Health Services

TrueHb has been associated with Apollo Tele Health Services (ATHS) for over two years. ATHS works on a project to create awareness about non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among under-served population.
TrueHb has helped ATHS screen over 9 lakh under-served people for anaemia. The resultant awareness and timely intervention provided has helped in averting the health risks posed by anaemia in these communities.
Currently operational in 6 locations across India, the team (150 strong) conducts health screening camps for 15 days every month where vital parameters such as BP, Blood Glucose, Haemoglobin, BMI and Weight Circumference are measured for each person screened. Those found to be at risk of NCDs are provided tele-counselling by Apollo doctors and subsequently referred to the local PHCs. Regular follow-ups are also conducted.

Apollo Tele Health Services (ATHS) is the Telemedicine arm of Apollo Hospitals. In over 17 years of operations, ATHS has created the largest multi-specialty Telemedicine network in South Asia. ATHS runs several projects in setting up tele-clinics, turn-key projects for hospital management and mass community screening programs.

Haemoglobin detection by ANMs
A study was conducted in Madhya Pradesh to compare the methods used for haemoglobin detection by ANMs.
The methods compared - WHO Colour Scale, Sahli’s Hemoglobinmeter and TrueHb.
The results of the focus group discussion among ANMs clearly showed that they would prefer to use TrueHb over traditional technologies to check Haemoglobin.
TrueHb scored over other traditional methods due to: Portability, Accuracy and Ease of Use.
We believe ANMs have found their lifelong companion in TrueHb for haemoglobin detection.
Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) - ANM is a village-level female health worker in India who helps in providing safe and effective care to village communities as they are the first contact person between the community and the health services.
Ante Natal Care (ANC) is one of the many important tasks that an ANM carries out. For pregnant women, ANC happens at least once every trimester.

Neurosynaptic Communications

TrueHb is associated with Neurosynaptic Communications, one of the leading Telemedicine Solutions Company in India. Its patented ReMeDi system contains resource-light technology for seamless connectivity, data management systems & diagnostic capabilities.
Integrating TrueHb into the ReMeDi platform has empowered tele-clinics with point-of-care anaemia screening. Over 100 tele-clinics across India have been equipped with TrueHb and over 15,000 women have been screened thereby.

The ReMeDi system comes equipped with ECG, Thermometer, BP monitoring, Spirometer, Pulse Oximeter and Stethoscope. Neurosynaptic has licensed the ReMeDi system to several of the leading healthcare providers (hospitals, NGOs, Government bodies) in India to manage their tele-medicine requirements.

Neurosynaptic has enabled over 200,000 consultations in rural India where in over 75% of the cases, the patients did not have to travel beyond their village for healthcare access. This is a resounding success story for Tele-medicine in India and we at Wrig are proud to have partnered with Neurosynaptic in this effort.

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR)
To reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), National Health Mission (NHM), UP introduced TrueHb Hemoglobinmeter for Ante Natal Care (ANC) in 7 Anemia stricken districts: Gonda, Shrawasti, Balrampur, Bahraich, Kheri, Sitapur and Siddhartha Nagar. State of UP trails MMR National Average of 130.
More than 2000 meters and 1.5 lakh strips have been given to all Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) for ANC. Later a comparative study was done with old methodology for Hb detection. While official study is yet to be published, we understand that detection of Severe Anemia has gone up considerably with the use of TrueHb Hemoglobinmeter.
While MMR is subject to many factors, one of the leading causes of death is Anemia. If women are treated for Anemia from their first trimester then chances of maternal death becomes very low.
To combat Anemia, National Iron Plus Initiative (NIPI) under National Health Mission (NHM) has listed Ante Natal Care (ANC) and Iron supplementation protocol for pregnant women.
But the challenge is detecting anemia accurately.
Public Health system in India has been vying for a product that is portable, accurate and user-friendly. Aeon Life’s first product innovation ‘TrueHb’ is the solution for this issue.
Accuracy in detection of Severe Anemia is critical to reduce MMR.

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) – Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is the number of resident maternal deaths within 42 days of pregnancy termination, due to complications of pregnancy, childbirth, and the puerperium in a specified geographic area (country, state, county, etc.) divided by total resident live births for the same geographic area for a specified time period, usually a calendar year, multiplied by 100,000.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) - Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are set of parameters issued by United Nations to be tracked and achieved by Nations across the World. MMR is one of them. India recorded MMR of 130 in the year 2015.
